BadFish: A Tribute to Sublime Blizzy Tour

Spune Presents Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime w/ Beach Fly at Club Dada - Outdoor Stage on February 11, 2025!

Badfish is a vibe. Badfish is a sonic house party complete with plenty of gyrating fans sipping libations and enjoying various extracurricular activities. Badfish is feel-good music.

For almost 25 years, the Rhode Island-based band – Joel Hanks on bass, Scott Begin on drums, Pat Downes on vocals and guitar, Danny Torgersen on horns, keyboards, and guitars – have successfully paid tribute to Sublime, the influential California group that brought ska-punk and reggae-rock to the mainstream. Badfish’s heartfelt celebration of Sublime’s musical spirit and legacy is so sought-after that they’ve headlined theaters, sold out shows, and played 15-20gigs a month.

But now, Badfish is more. After two decades of Sublime reverence, Badfish originality is stomping into high gear. Badfish recently released its second new song, the anthemic, groove-fortified “F You Pay Me,” with special guest Grieves, as the follow-up to the band’s first single, “High With You.” Now the Sublime repertoire is nicely augmented by fresh original tracks that blend seamlessly together.

Ennis Bluebonnet Trails & Festival

Celebrating 74 Years of Ennis Bluebonnet Trails: Ennis was designated by the 1997 State Legislature as the home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail and was designated the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas. From April 1-30,  Ennis showcases over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club.  These trails are the oldest such trails known in the state, and tens of thousands of visitors make the short trek to Ennis to view this wonderful wildflower show. The Ennis Garden Club will drive the trails to check the bloom status each week starting in April. The Club then reports to the Ennis Welcome Center about the latest status of the bluebonnets so that visitors can be well informed where the best flowers are on the trails at the time of their visit. Each year, the bluebonnets will appear on different trails as these are natural to the area. In Ennis, the bluebonnets typically peak around the 3rd week of April, according to the Ennis Garden Club. This can vary year to year due to weather conditions and terrain, so please check this website or call 972-878-4748 before your visit. The Ennis Welcome Center will be open 7 days a week in April (Closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday).

Entrepreneur Miriam Linna (The Cramps/Norton Records co-founder) returns to Dallas to reveal all in a spellbinding presentation connecting Jack Ruby, Lee Harvey Oswald, monster movies, and more! Linna’s talk is the prelude to a screening of the locally-produced and filmed creature feature classic, THE GIANT GILA MONSTER (1959).

Come early for DJ fun spinning rare and obscure hits of 1963, including local musician Joe Johnson’s “Giant Gila Monster.” Please visit the Kicks Books/Norton table and snag a keepsake poster of the night’s event.

Miriam Linna joined seminal Psychobilly band The Cramps in 1976 as its original drummer. In 2013 Linna debuted Songs from the Grassy Knoll, an album of tribute and topical songs regarding the JFK assassination.

Co-presented by Half Price Books, Top Ten Records, and the Dallas Municipal Archives.

Our Dallas at Dusk series comes to an end at the Dallas Freedman's Cemetery. Heritage Oak Cliff Fall Home Tour

The 2025 Heritage Oak Cliff Fall Home Tour is just around the corner, and we can't wait for you to tour 7 amazing homes and 2 bonus properties.

The neighborhoods with houses on the tour include Kessler Park, East Kessler, Kessler Plaza, Kiestwood Estates, Kings Highway, Stevens Park Village, and Lake Cliff. The Homes this year are FANTASTIC!

Proxy Properties will be opening up the East Dock development for touring, where the history of the 1915 warehouse will be presented, and you'll have an opportunity to see some 'hard hat' areas of the preservation and new construction. Tour goers will also get to preview the new exciting businesses coming to East Oak Cliff by the Zoo and Halperin Park.

BC Workshop and Southern Dallas Progress will be opening up the ‘Little Blue House’ in the Tenth Street Historic District to see that rehabilitation and learn about the history of the former Freedman’s town, the families, and why it is important to save this historic neighborhood. Also open for a 'hard hat' tour will be the last commercial property still standing in Tenth Street.

The Heritage Oak Cliff Fall Home Tour is a vital event for Oak Cliff. Funds raised from the tour support Oak Cliff neighborhoods through grants for neighborhood beautification, street sign toppers, tree reforestation, neighborhood websites, community events, National Night Out activities, and more.
